After reading the article, it becomes clear to me that technology has been calculating since before time. Most of the time I take for granted how much mathematics, and engineering goes into a design. Through the coarse of this major I have learned how to draw from an artistic point of view to the design, rendering point of view. It was difficult and I am still learning how to impose details.
The computer now of days is relied on for layout, rendering, and even form. I feel the computer has many good qualities as well as bad qualities. When using the computer you can analyze a space more in detail.
People can be added to show the movement of individuals in a space. I have trouble with drawing people in a space they have a nice quality but appear to be stagnant in some cases. Most of the computer renderings I have seen allow me to be in the space as if I actually took a picture.
However computer renderings enhance a portfolio and help in analyzing a design proposal in a firm but, I find that a lot of people really enjoy my drawings and are always asking me, “how did you draw that?”. So all in all I believe computers have made a large impact in the way we design and analyze designs not just in interior architecture but also in product design.
